Bagamoyo Business School Program

With support from Sustainable Preservation Initiative (SPI), Open Mind Tanzania (OMT) is expecting to start a new project named, “Business School Program in Bagamoyo Tanzania” at Kaole, Dunda ward in Bagamoyo district, Coast Region. The aim of the project is to create sustainable economic opportunities to people, women in particular who are living around Bagamoyo archaeological sites by using the advantage of locally available cultural heritage resources to earn and increase their income and build a better life for themselves and their families while motivating local protection of the Bagamoyo archaeological site, as described in the joint proposal. The project will run for the first cycle of two years starting at a total of Tshs. 276,000,000.

To start with, the baseline activity has been conducted to get background information on the need for trainees Women artisans and micro entrepreneurs in Kaole, Bagamoyo. A total of 125 women were reached for possible recruitment for the project.
